Wedding Day Emergency Kit

Wedding Day Emergency Kit Being prepared for unexpected surprises and minor mishaps on your big day is going to make all the difference to your stress levels what you should have in your Emergency Kit .

Wedding Day Emergency Kit should include:

  • Wet wipes or hand sanitiser, and tissues (there may be lots of tears, hand-shaking, touching of sand or trees during your photos, and spilling of champagne)

  • A little cash (you just never know)

  • Mascara, lipstick and concealer for small touch-ups

  • Gum or mints (this is going to be a long day with plenty of chatting)

  • A needle and thread (either transparent or the same colour as your dress)

  • Pain killers and anti-histamines (for streaming eyes or persistent headaches)

  • Hairspray, clips and hair elastics (if anything happens to your hairstyle in the wind or while dancing, at least you can restyle it to look good)

  • Plasters (a little pinprick can get blood on your dress and make a big mess, and a blister can ruin a great dance. So, be prepared)

  • An itinerary for the days along with the contact names and numbers of all of your vendors, in case of an emergency with the music, venue, hotel, etc…

  • Water (a bottle of water will go a long way when you’re charging from one venue to another or spending time with photographers, make-up artists and hairdressers. Staying hydrated will also prevent headaches and fatigue)

  • Snacks (nuts or biltong is a great idea. Most brides don’t feel very hungry on the day, as their adrenalin is compensating. But, it’s important to have something nutritious inside you so that you don’t start feeling weak or tired). Alternatively, a small chocolate .

  • A stain removal pen (available online, these are fabulous for removing minor food and make-up stains from your dress)

  • Deodorant and perfume (with your nerves, you may end up sweating more than usual. You’ll also be hugging a lot of people, so make sure that you smell good)

There are going to be unexpected surprises and hiccups on the day. But, with a well-planned Wedding Day Emergency Kit, you can handle these with style and get on with the celebrations.
